Galindo Bros and Sweet Sister

So have you ever had someone, lets say your husband, want to copy you all the time? Well, I have! And yes it's my husband…lol Actually we are so competitive we love stealing ideas from one another and making them better. I know, right?. Except this is a healthy copycat relationship. We DO confess that we stole the idea from the other, so no biggie. I know, kinda strange especially when some of the things we like to do involve crafting, baking and photography. I don't mind though. Like my mommy always told me, "Copying is a form of flattery." But I swear if Mr. G knew how to sew he would try to beat me at every creative idea I possess. That little rascal! 


So this brings me to photography. Last year my sisters and I had a gorgeous family photo shoot with the adorable and talented Ala from loveala. She produced some very special memories for us and my mother. But of course, this year, my husband wanted to do the same for his dad…See what I mean:) Except, I volunteered to take the photos for them. I love photography but seriously it ain't easy peezy! Hail to all professional photographers because it is definitely harder than it looks. After capturing the photos, editing and printing them out I realized that I need to practice litterally every day, to come even a smidge close to the pros. I think the creative aspect of photography comes a lot easier to me than pushing all the bells and whistles on the camera. So please don't judge my work as legit but instead look at it, for now, as a "Monet" in progress! (Like in Clueless where Cher says, "You see, it's like the painting. Seen from far away, it's okay; but up close, it's a big ol' mess.") LOL!

The Ortiz Family

I haven't done a friend's family photo shoot since the summer. I'm so excited that I'm up and about taking photos again. I just love it! And although this is just a hobby, I love getting all this practice in! It is so much fun to hang out with family and friends, take snaps and make some memories.

Michelle is one of my long time elementary school friends. She is all grown up now with the most adorable family. Her, her hubby and two children are just plain cuteness. The kids were just ready to have a day of fun at the perfect-picture taking location, Heritage Park, in Santa Fe Springs. Here are some of my faves!

Charm and Scott

...And they lived happily ever after. These were the words that seem to fit so perfectly at my friends', Charm and Scotty, wedding and I know will also be true for their marriage. This special occasion for these love birds was held on October 23, 2010 in Las Vegas Nevada. No, it wasn't anything remotely close to a shotgun wedding but just the opposite. They said their vows in a Catholic church, which was immediately followed by a very appetizing luncheon at Boarder Grill inside the Mandalay Bay Casino & Resort. Later in the evening, drinks and desserts overflowed in their luxury suite. My oh so creative friend Charm thought out every detail from the cutest flags (instead of rice) at the ceremony to making her own cake pops at the dessert bar. I not only loved being apart of their romantic getaway wedding but had too much fun snapping some shots. Here are a few of my favs!

The flags were in place of throwing rice...too cute. They had different embossed sayings and pictures like LOVE, Mr. & Mrs...etc.

These two love birds were seen everywhere....from the out-of-town bags to the modern 3 layer cake.

Scotty and Charm's cartoon picture was surrounded by candy galore.

 This has got to be my favorite detail of the whole wedding. They used an ornate birdcage to hold the wedding cards. The tree was meant for guests to place notes of love and advice.

Months and baby Bumps

In my spare time, I like searching for creative, crafty, photographic, baby, and baking blogs. During one of my many searches I came across a photog blog that created this crazy maternity picture. Although I wasn't pregnant at the time, I imagined doing the same thing whenever I got the bump. So here I created a knock off, of the orignal idea from Pacing the Panic Room. Hope you love my version as much as I do!

August-Here I am at 3 months.

September-4 months

October-5 months...finally you can see the bump!

Changes and Camera Bags

I guess you can say I've been really thinking about taking this photography hobby a bit more seriously. Unfortunately, it takes a lot longer then it seems to create an idea of a brand that represents you, or I should say ME. Mr. G has been going over design logos, webpage templates and etc. for the past couple of weeks. But as I do my research and look around at other photo blogs, craft blogs and just blogs in general I keep changing my mind. I told Mr. G I wanted something cute, that represents my girly side, but then I said scratch that I need something modern and sophisticated. Then again I tell him no I like girly because that fits me and what I want to do with photography...fun with some frills because I'm not trying to make this a career. This will still be my hobby with a more professional look. So, if you see a new homepage template every other week or so its just my way of previewing what looks best. Please be patient:)

Now along with these changes a girl has to get a new wardrobe to match the new look. I've been browsing around on etsy, amazon and the web to find a cute yet sophisticated and durable DSLR camera bag. Here is what I've found!

What would your choice be? Hmmm....because it's my HOBBY I'm totally going with the Janine King camera bag. 

Carlos and Elvira

I have been planning for this wedding for a couple of months now. Not as the bride or a bridesmaid but as an anxious friend. And of course I had to prepare accordingly. My bestie and I started with the dress. Check. Then came the shoes. Check. Finally our MAC appointment, triple check. We love dressing up, planning to have fun and then executing it like the all girl school and sorority girls we are. I was also excited to see this Bride's eye for detail. Their engagement party was sweet and bridal party was fab so I just knew this weeding was going to be a razzle dazzle!
